Thanks a lot, finally. At first hearing, strange and the vocals are a bit dull. That said, not a bad song, maybe i need some getting used to.

Well, they've said it several times, we should look at them as a completely different band and try to decide if we like them, not comparing them to live. I know it's hard, but it's not fair to talk about missing ed in this band. If ed wasn't missing, there wouldn't be no tgf.

I am looking at them as a completely different band. I'm not comparing them to Live. There is no comparison. The record's going to be great and I'm really excited about it but I was just expecting less I dunno, Led Zeppelin? And lets be realistic - it is too fair to talk about missing Ed. To be frank, and I don't think I'm alone here, I'm not particularly interested in listening to Ed sing about his daughters and love and truth and glory. Seems a bit inauthentic after all that's gone down. Alls I'm sayin is his vocals on this song would sound ridiculous. Song structure and sound reminds me of "Sparkle" off TDTH.

I still don't get it, song makes you miss Ed, although his vocals on it would sound ridiculous?

And what about Ed selling coffee with a picture of his daughters, it kinda smashed my mind. Laughing

As far as I'm concerned, those particular lyrics never did much to me. I'll have my Ed with existential angst cca. 1997. I think he was far more real back then.

I like them lyrics, because they are personal, 1-2 songs on a subject is pretty cool, but it got a bit old with time.
And God related is one of the best things i like in Live lyrics.

Good call on that. But you know what I meant, like as in a comparing; one better than the other. Actually after listening to it again, the 'Blind Melon/Unified Theory' sounding post-chorus part with the 'Guns n Roses' 'Sweet Child O' Mine' guitar lick where he sings the 'We all need lov(in') sometimes' vocal line that kind of resembles the 'Laa la la lala-lala' part in 'Hey Jude' kinda reminds me of the bridge from 'Feel the Quiet River Rage'

And the song makes me miss Ed because when Ed sang, before his xxxx was put in a mason jar under the sink, he didn't sound like Bob Plant.

Now if you'll excuse me I have a 'Heaven' and 'Love Shines' playlist to listen to. Embarassed

The fact that I only listened to it once says in enough, it did not impress me to much I guess.
However, that doesn't say anything about the other songs on their upcoming album.
I'm not comparing any of this with Live (with Ed) but I honestly think that it is the vocals that set me off a bit, it is to much sounding like AC/DC.
In other words, I might like this song better with a different singer, maybe Chad T has to give it a try himself. Rolling Eyes
